Today in western civ we started learning about Rome and we learned who settled there and what was happing their. We learned that Etruscans came from north central part of a pennisula. Mostly metal workers, artist, and architects were the jobs they had. Next the Greeks settled their in many colonies around the Mediterranean Sea. They borrowed ideas from them such as religion beliefs, alphabet, much of their art, and military techniques and weaponry. The first people to settle there were the Latins they were descendants of Indo-Europeans. They settled on banks on the Tiber river. It was built on seven hills in a swamp land. Many streams flowed into the Tiber river, it was a marshy area called Forum between Palatine and capitoline Hill. Urban legend has it that Washington DC was built on a swamp. Lucius Tarquinias Superbus was the seventh and final king of Rome. After we learned all of that class was over and we left for the day.
