Today in western civ we continued to take notes about Rome and we learned about their government and how it compares to the United States of America. We learned where the word republic came from and what  it means, it means people affair. Then we learned about the different terms of government. We learned that the executive in Rome has 2 consoles and 1 year terms and they could control the military   In the US we have a president plus a Vice President. They served in 4 year terms and could also control the military. In the legislative branch in Rome they are members for life and have 300 people in the senate. In the US there  are over 100 members 2 from each state and they serve in 2 year terms. In the judicial in Rome they are chosen by the assembly and they serve in 1 year terms. In the us it is the Supreme Court and there are 9 members and they are in office for their lifetime. Then we talked about the bill of rights from the US and the 12 table of Rome. Then class was over and left.
