Today in western civ we came in and talked a little bit. Then Mr. Schick showed us a a song that he wrote himself about Rome. It was a to the song "Low" that he made a remix to. Then we continued to work through the powerpoint about Rome. We learned about Octavian and how he was granted citizenship and expanded territories he created jobs for the poor and increased pay for soldiers. Later he was assassinated, he died because senator saw Caesar rising in power and was becoming a huge threat of political visibility. He lured himself into the senate, stabbing him 23 times making sure all were involved. Brutus and caesar killed him, senators were not punished for what they had done. After Julia Caesar grandnephew and adopted son Octavian takes over at age 18. Octavian forces the weak to retire. Mark partners up with Cleopatra at Egypt personally, politically, and economically. Octavian defends them at battle of Actium he was now the unchallenged ruler of Rome. 40 years of ruling as empire in 27 BC-AD 44. pax Roma was 207 years long and was from 27 BC-AD 180. Then class was over and we left for the day.
